half way update

I am now over the "half way" mark of this pregnancy. i will be 24 weeks this friday, and i feel as if i am 34 weeks :) I am finally feeling pretty good and have most of my energy back, so I am very thankful for that. I found out last week that my OB is no longer with the practice i was going to, so I now have a new doctor, I meet him at the end of the month. Its kind of a bummer to have to change doctors this far into the pregnancy but what can you do?! We have decided on a name for our lil princess, it will be Addyson Marie Widmer, (Addy for short) Colton says her name is going to be Wally, so any time we talk about her he refers to her as Wally. He is going to be such a great big brother, and is really excited for Addyson to get here; he loves to put his hands on my stomach and feel her moving and kicking. Its so neat that we are able to share this experience with him and that he can actually understand what is going on... well, most of whats going on, he did ask me the other day how the baby will get out of my belly and wanted to know if she comes out my belly button. (we will just go with answering yes to that for now) :)
One week from tomorrow will be my baby's 4th birthday, where did the time go? i can not wrap my brain around the fact that he will be 4 years old, 4 seems so old. it seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital and he was so tiny. This year we are just going to celebrate his birthday with our family and a few close family friends at our house doing a BBQ. He didn't really want a birthday party he said and since i felt horrible for that and i still wanted to make his birthday special, we are still doing a pirate theme even if its only Colton, Bella and his friend Michaela. :) I know that he will have a blast with all of us.
I will post more after his birthday next week.

Think PINK!!!

.

gosh, i am really slacking on updating my blog, so sorry!!!

well, i am now 18 weeks, almost 19, and that means almost HALF WAY done with this pregnancy. it makes me excited, yet sad at the same time since this will be our last baby. I am still getting sick in the mornings, and i have only gained 2lbs so far! ( i am sure i will start to pack on the pounds anytime). due to the stress that my work is giving me i have been having bad contractions already and the doctor wants me to relax, de-stress and get as much rest as i can... boy is that easier said than done, especially with Colton running around. Anyways, i just have to learn to just sit and relax i guess.
Anyways, at my last appointment i sweet talked our wonderful Dr. Amend into doing an ultra sound to see if we could find out the sex before my scheduled one a the end of the month, i honestly didn't think he would but when they said "OK" i got so excited then i felt bad since Carson was not at the app. with me, so i had him not tell me what he saw and to put write it on the u/s picture and put it in an envelope so carson and I could open it together... let me tell you, that was the longest 2 hour wait for Carson to get home from work that day, i was going nuts! he Finally got home and we opened it and it is a.............................GIRL!!!!!! yey! we are so excited to have a little girl, cant wait to buy little dresses and put bows in her hair. :) we are not 100% sure on a name, but as now it is Addison Marie, or Addison Lynn.
Other than that things are going fine, Colton is getting really excited about his birthday next month, cant believe my baby will be 4 pretty soon. this year we are just going to have a small party with just a few friends and we will have it at home this year.

I will update more after my ultrasound that is scheduled on the 22nd.... hopefully the doctor was not wrong and she is not really a "he" i have that fear lol.

Hope you are all doing well!

Big News!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Birthday to ME!!!

So sorry i have been MIA the past month or so, we have not really had the internet so its been hard to update my blog.

Christmas was so much fun this year with Colton, by far the best age yet. All the anticipation for the big guy in red to come and then seeing his face light up Christmas morning was the best sight ever. Colton wanted a Pillow Pet very bad this year, when you would ask him what he wanted thats all he would say, so to see his face when he opened up the pillow pet gift from Santa and to hear the excitement in his voice just for that small gift was so precious. We did our thing at home with the 3 of us, then headed out to Matt and Tannas for a good breakfast and Christmas #2, after that we went over to my parents house for Christmas #3, by the end of the day we were all worn out!

New Years this year was very low key, i made a yummy steak and shrimp dinner then we went to bed pretty early. Carson and the dog got up around 3am to go chucker hunting and they had a 4 hour drive for that, it was fine that we didnt do anything since its probably best to stay off the roads with all the crazies on New Years Eve. :)

Happy 27th birthday to me!!! We celebrated my birthday with my family and went out to eat, it was pretty low key. Friday night, Tanna planned a girls night/birthday bash at a local bar/restaurant with a few of our good friends. I had a great night with the girls and had some good food and she also got some great cupcakes for me too! Thanks Tanna for being a great sista i really appreciate everything you did, i had a great time!!!

BIG NEWS......... baby #2 is baking in the oven!!! Colton will be a big brother July 2011, we are so excited !!! Just like with Colton, i have been pretty sick, and i am really hoping that since i am in the 2nd trimester it will go away any day now. We are really hoping for a girl, but i have this gut feeling its a boy.... we will find out here in the next few weeks i hope. :)

Belly pictures to come soon :)

Thanksgiving Fun!

Well, I am a little late on posting a blog about how our turkey day went, but better late than never i guess!
This year, Carson and I hosted Thanksgiving with both his side of the family and my side, I think we had about 16 people here in our house. We had so much food, i think i still have left overs in the fridge. It was my FIRST time cooking a turkey, and what an experience it was! Since we had so many people we had a 22lb turkey, well Carson didnt realize that it would take a good probably 4 days to defrost that bird and when we got it he put it in the deep-freze out in the garage ,and it wasnt until 2 days before Thanksgiving i asked where it was and he told me where he put it. So, the day before thanksgiving I had it in the sink full of cold water to try to defrost that big ol' frozen bird. Well, the morning of Thanksgiving, i grab my rubber gloves and get ready to get the oh so nasty "stuff" out of the inside of it, only to realize its still FROZEN! i decided to run warm water into it, finally, i got everything out and got it prepared and into the oven. Well, the directions on the turkey said it would take about 4-4.5 hours to cook, so i figured it would be off by a bit and planned for 5, well, about 5.5 hours into it, we thought it was done the little red thing to tell if its done popped up and we took it out, got the other food warmed back up in the oven for a few while the bird "rested" my dad and carson went to cut into the bird, only to find out it was still RAW in the middle.... so back into the oven it went, and about another 1 1/2 later it was finally done, and it turned out really good i thought too! Funny how you prepare for a day or so before thanksgiving, cook ALL day long, and eat up all the food in about 20 minutes. :)
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Time sure flies when you are having fun! we have been so busy this past month with work, soccer lessons, birthday parties, and family time i have hardly had the time to sit down and upload new pictures and blog.
Quick updates on us... Colton is still in soccer, the first few classes were not so good, we actually moved him into the parent-tot class so i am doing soccer too :) his cousin Bella is in the class as well. He can now sing his ABC's if i can ever figure out how to get the video off our video camera i would post it, but its the cutest thing to hear him. He is loving his new cat Burk, that poor cat puts up with so much from Colton. Burk has adapted very well to our house and to Sako who we thought would just want to eat him but really wants to play with him. Carson is doing well, working to get his CDL license he hopes to test next month. Me, i am still working away and trying to get ready for the holidays. This year we are having Thanksgiving at our house with both sides of our families over, it should be a great time.
Today, we went with Tanna, Matt, and the kids to the High Desert Museum. they had this really neat butterfly exhibit where you walk into this mesh cage type thing and there are tons and tons of live butterflies fluttering around, we actually had a few that landed on us while we were inside, Colton thought that was so neat.

Gosh, where did October go? It's hard to believe that it is already November, next week Carson and I will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary, it falls on a Thursday so I am not sure what we will be doing, hopefully going out to enjoy a nice dinner together. This past weekend was Halloween, Colton was a ninja this year. He had SO much fun trick or treating, each house he would run as fast as he could, ring the bell, say "trick or treat", get his goods, run back to us and show us how much candy he had in his bucket. he could not believe how much yummy stuff he scored this year.
Last week Colton started soccer lessons. He is always running around the yard playing soccer, and told me he wants to be a soccer player when he grows up so we thought it would be great to put him in lessons. Well, lets just say the first half went OK, but when they took a break and he was able to come see us, he started to cry and would not go back out to play for the life of him. i hope this week goes better.
Today, Carson called and he said that someone had dumped 5 kittens at his work on Monday, he head them meowing today and went to see what was going on, he saw all 5, when he went to go near them all of the ran away but 1 little gray one who just cowered in a little ball against the wall. Next thing i knew, he was asking me if i wanted a cat. so, he brought him home for us today. We guess he is about 6 weeks old, he is skin and bone, so sad. he hisses at you and is so scared of us, but we bought him food, and have tried to make him as comfortable as we can. we are going to give it a day or two to see if he comes around. I am not sure if i can handle a cat that is horrified of us, and not to mention Sako... he just has no idea what to think of the new house guest. But Colton was excited to have him he named him Burke. I'll update in a few days and let you all know how it is going with Mr. Burke.

pumpkin patch time

It's that time of year again, time for the leaves to change, the weather to cool down, and time to head to the pumpkin patch. This year we were able to go with some good friends of ours, we all had a great time. Our niece Bella spent the weekend with us while her parents were away on a kidless weekend, they all had a fun filled time. The pumpkin patch has everything from pony rides, petting zoo, a pumpkin launcher( i think this one is for the dads) and of course tons of pumpkins.
We had a nice time with Bella this weekend, she is finally at the age where her and Colton and play together. she is such a good girl. She spent most of the time running after Sako saying "puppy, puppy" but Colton had a blast teaching her new things and words. The kids had fun in the bath, colton would squirt with with the water gun and bella would just laugh and laugh. she is such a little helper she just wanted to be sure Coltie was nice and clean so she kept dumping water on him over and over again.

We are all doing well, nothing new here... Carson is busy with work, he is really enjoying his job. Colton is growing like a weed, 42in and a little over 42lbs too, he is my big boy.
Happy Fall to everyone!
