Thanksgiving Fun!

Well, I am a little late on posting a blog about how our turkey day went, but better late than never i guess!
This year, Carson and I hosted Thanksgiving with both his side of the family and my side, I think we had about 16 people here in our house. We had so much food, i think i still have left overs in the fridge. It was my FIRST time cooking a turkey, and what an experience it was! Since we had so many people we had a 22lb turkey, well Carson didnt realize that it would take a good probably 4 days to defrost that bird and when we got it he put it in the deep-freze out in the garage ,and it wasnt until 2 days before Thanksgiving i asked where it was and he told me where he put it. So, the day before thanksgiving I had it in the sink full of cold water to try to defrost that big ol' frozen bird. Well, the morning of Thanksgiving, i grab my rubber gloves and get ready to get the oh so nasty "stuff" out of the inside of it, only to realize its still FROZEN! i decided to run warm water into it, finally, i got everything out and got it prepared and into the oven. Well, the directions on the turkey said it would take about 4-4.5 hours to cook, so i figured it would be off by a bit and planned for 5, well, about 5.5 hours into it, we thought it was done the little red thing to tell if its done popped up and we took it out, got the other food warmed back up in the oven for a few while the bird "rested" my dad and carson went to cut into the bird, only to find out it was still RAW in the middle.... so back into the oven it went, and about another 1 1/2 later it was finally done, and it turned out really good i thought too! Funny how you prepare for a day or so before thanksgiving, cook ALL day long, and eat up all the food in about 20 minutes. :)
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
